Barack Will Not Make a Phony Promise to the American People!

As for a Gas Tax Holiday, John McCain or Hillary will not be President this summer so how can John McCain or Hillary really Implement this idea into FACT.. they can't! It is a gimmick that they cannot produce on... That is so sad, and another example of Politicians trying to fool people for a vote on an idea or Gift they can't deliver on or produce. It's basically dishonest and a lie! Barack will not make a Phony Promise to the American people!

As for the obliteration of Iran remark, we should recall what Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill wrote in position 8 after World War II in The Atlantic Charter, both who knew and were familiar with the horrors of war....

P.S. On Morning Joe, Joe said as they watched a clip today of Hillary speaking in Indianna and commented on how Inspirational she had become. What they did not say is that the speech sounded an awful lot like a Barack Obama Speech!

I loved on Morning Joe when Axlerod challenged them, show data ANY data whatsoever to show that gas taxs work, and it won't be just like Obama said.

oil companies raise the price to cover the cut.

and guess what? no one still has ANYTHING to say.

the oil companies will raise their prices and we can't stop that and Hillary knows that.

I had respect for scarborough because he was fair but his pro clinton stance this morning inexcusable ... thank god for micha ..she straighten Joe out and when axelrod mad Joe look like a ass he had no answers because he know this will only benefit the oil companies

If trying to spin the gas tax holiday as a good idea makes you feel stupid, you might want to reconsider your position. Nothing to do with Obama.

The tax break -- he has said he will give a tax break for earners under $75,000. And he has never contradicted it. What makes you think it's a lie? Same for not raising taxes on the middle class.

Social Security cap -- he says he will look at raising the cap about the current ~97,500. That doesn't conflict with his position on taxes for earners under $75,000.

Capital Gains tax -- he said he would return the tax to where it was during Clinton's administration. So did Hillary. Oddly enough, Russert decided that Obama meant 28% and Hillary meant 20%. But Obama did not mention a number in his statement so it was not a lie coming from him.

Odd you put that in quotes. That's not what he said. He said he wants to raise the quality of education for all children to that of the best public schools. He didn't rule out the idea that in some cases, in some places, private schools might be the answer

Neither candidate is offering universal healthcare. Both are in favor of it but it is a loser politically. Both candidates are offering a method for all Americans to buy health insurance. Hillary will force people to buy it. Obama will not force them to because it is his position that if it is affordable and available people will not have to be forced. No lie involved here.

Subsequent to Obama's first statement, Reverend Wright went off the deep end forcing Obama to have a change of heart. First, it's a non-issue. Second, it was not a lie.

I have responded to every single talking point just this once. Be warned, I won't respond politely if you bring them up again.

Well I hate to break it to you, but the President can't make the gas tax changes this summer either--because the President doesn't have the power to do that. Since it has to do with taxation, the bill would have to start in the House of Representatives and then go to the Senate, and LATER be signed by the President.

McCain, Clinton, and Obama are all influential politicians. Even though none of them are President, they DO have the power to effect policy change through their advocacy and action. This is probably what McCain and Hillary want to happen this summer. They are clearly not so stupid that either of them think they will be President in a month.

That said, I still think the gas tax break is a bad idea... just not for the reasons you suggest.

Obama is a politician. He makes promises that he cannot deliver on, they all do. The difference is what it sounds like, not what actually happens because he is just another politician and that is what they all do. None of the things he has promised will happen just because he says so. He panders when it suits him.

He has taken Clinton's ideas and used them as his own. He may win the battle but he will lose the war. Makes no difference what actually happens but what it sounds like to the voters. It sounds like Obama thinks that a few dollars in the pockets of working Americans makes no difference, but to them it does matter. It sounds like he doesn't really care about any thing in the short run, that is what voters hear, even if there is no chance of actually getting a tax holiday, the sound of it is " I don't care about offering you any short term solutions, because some experts say it is a bad idea" That is what voters hear. Once again, Obama has a tin ear and he will lose Indiana and North Carolina with his high rhetoric that discounts the working man's concerns for experts. He sounds like he doesn't care about them. Whether the tax holiday is a good idea or not, it sounds like he doesn't care about them.

When he talks, he appears to look down his nose at them. That is fine for the latte crowd, and the far left but the working man and woman feels his rhetoric is condescending. The voters have shown in these last contests that his high rhetoric is going over their heads. He will lose, just like he lost in Ohio, Texas and Penn. he will lose in Indiana and maybe even in N.C.

When I see the black commentators on TV threatening that if he doesn't get the nomination they will not vote for Clinton, I am reminded that they may have sway in the democratic party for now, but how much will it help them if Obama wins the nomination but loses the election? Will that be a win for them? Because it has become apparent that there is a while backlash across this whole country. In Feb. there was an Obama wave, but since then he has been loosing, and even lost in the suburbs of Penn. This trend will continue.

Hillary could maybe get the black voters to vote for her, but can Obama get those down scale blue dog democrats to vote for him? I don't see that ever happening. I think he is getting all the votes he is likely to get right now. If people are not voting for him now, will they chance their minds later? Maybe, but probably not. Obama has already lost, his supporters just haven't realized it yet.
