Re: Charlie Crist is getting married !!!! (2.00 / 1)

From the Miami Herald article you sourced:

"The future bride and groom might have to skip the honeymoon and hit the campaign trail instead."

Pretty much says it all, lol.

I can't believe they might actually pick Crist. They wouldn't, would they?

Re: He is a babe magnet . . . (none / 0)

If he's the VP, Obama ought to hand it to Edwards, I'd say. He'd need to go young and more down-to-earth against two white-haired gentlemen from Arizona and Florida, neither of whom has a background or reputation that would thrill rural voters. Edwards would also keep Obama's ass on message.

Actually, Crist would be picked to shore up (none / 0)

southern / border states  (FL, VA) - - I'd counter north or west or rustbelt - -
Ironically, Hillary keeps making more and more sense - - so far, the rest are serially failing their auditions!

Re: Actually, Crist would be picked to shore up (none / 0)

Hmm... I still say that in no way would Charlie Crist hit a home run with most conservatives who have a problem with McCain.

But you are definitely right that Hillary on the ticket might help with the purple states if McCain picks Crist.

Yes I agree Edwards would be good for Obama.

I think Crist would be good.. strategically (none / 0)

It gives Al Franklin MN a better chance at winning the senate seat. Fl is not necessary to win and it would be a hard win...not to say to ignore Fl but by forcing repugs to defend on their own turf it opens up the playing field for Dems..

Re: Charlie Crist is getting married !!!! (none / 0)

The GOP does not want another Foley or Larry Craig incident, which is why it boggles my mind that McCain continues to travel as a threesome with Lindsey Graham and Joe Lieberman.  I think McCain is laying the groundwork for making a play for the gay vote.

by PabloZed on Fri Jul 04, 2008 at 08:47:52 AM EST

Is Mc "making a play for the gay vote"? (none / 0)

or making a play for Lindsay Graham?  Stuff happens on that bus!
PS - Seriously, you don't make a play for the gay vote with closet queen reservists who deny their sexuality and SUPPORT don't ask / don't tell.

Please ban this guy. (none / 0)

What, because he's single he must be a closeted homosexual?  Or does he just "look gay" to you?

Please do us all a favor and crawl in a hole somewhere.

by username on Fri Jul 04, 2008 at 08:53:09 AM EST

No, because he hung out at gay bars (2.00 / 2)

in St Pete.  Georgie's Alibi, for one.
And, because he's GAY - - it's an open secret in Florida.  Yet, he adheres to a homophobic agenda.
Now, why are YOU defending him?

And why do you and CAChemist (2.00 / 1)

want me banned for outing / discussing what everyone knows about Crist?
BTW - - I don't remember your similar ire when folks attack Democrats.  What is your agenda?

Meh.  I'm not a big fan of hounding people over (supposed or actual) sexual orientation.  Your call.

Oh, so it's not about Obama, or politics, or electing a president.  It's about you.
OK, now I got it!

Re: Please ban this guy. (none / 0)

This has nothing to do with being single. We're not talking The American President here. It has everything to do with tons of anecdotal reports and, honestly, little things. Like the fact that they are peddling a Charlie Crist sex tape. Seriously, WHY the hell would they do that if he wasn't actually gay?

Again, why would he hang at St Pete gay (2.00 / 1)

bars with other men and NEVER be seen with a women in 30 +/- years if he wasn't, like, GAY !!!
Read my comments / diaries - - I 100% support the struggle of our GLBT allies.  But, it's hypocracy I oppose, like gays who support gay adoption bans and oppose marriage equality.
PS - hey V, this guy's just a trouble maker - - after months of telling HRC supporters to jump on board, now he's attackin' us when we attack Repubicans?  Yikes!

Re: Please ban this guy. (2.00 / 1)

I live in Florida, where Christ's orientation is an open 'secret'. I don't know a thing about the gay community here, but I do know that.

But now some folks who were mad (2.00 / 1)

when you supported HRC "for too long" are mad 'cause we're attacking Republican phonies.  Makes no sense . . . unless they're just here to stir up dissension.

Re: Please ban this guy. (none / 0)

News to me -- I'm not from Florida, and don't keep tabs on most governors.  Having done a bit of Googling... well, it's not proof, but pretty damned close.  Maybe he's bi, maybe she's rich (she is).  In any case, it's his business.

Re: Charlie Crist is getting married !!!! - UPDATE (2.00 / 1)

I really doubt that McCain would pick someone who is rampantly rumored to be gay. Not unless he is stupid.  Hmmmmmm.  That could be.  Pugs are tepid about him now, including the evangels, and this would not help.  If he is gay, there are too many former relationship people who could pop up in the middle of the campaign.

Is Crist popular in Florida as governor?

by Scotch on Fri Jul 04, 2008 at 10:11:22 AM EST

Romney/Pawlenty (none / 0)

Reporters suggest that it's down to a two-man race for VP between Romney and Pawlenty.  Pawlenty's star may be falling after Obama's recent polling surge in Minnesota and Wisconsin, the two states that Pawlenty allegedly put into play.

Crist dodged a question several weeks ago about whether he was seeing someone; two weeks later, he announces he's getting married?  Draw your own conclusions I suppose...

Re: Charlie Crist is getting married !!!! - UPDATE (none / 0)

I'm sure this has nothing to do with politics, and certainly not in shoring up the "family values" vote.
